Default Help against blood magic

I need some serious help against blood magic on my W/Mo. I was just going against some Fog Nightmares, and well they owned me. Can anyone give me some builds I should try, or some tips? I'm even willing to change my secondary if it's completely necessary.

I'm sword btw

Blood magic is shadow damage.. in other words, nothing you can do to stop it. You can't use armor or be resistant to it. Protective spirit might work okay, along with shielding hands or something. As a warrior I'm not sure if that would be a viable solution for you. But otherwise, that's why that line of magic is effective. Necros can spike for around 280 using blood magic.

Instead of looking for ways to decrease the damage it does (although Protective Spirit is a damn good one, and yes it would help), try to keep the necro from using blood magic. Knock him down, try to interrupt him with a Savage Slash or Disrupting Chop, use anti-mage skills from your secondary... there's dozens of ways to mitigate the attack.

Also, necros and necro-type monsters are SPECIFICALLY more powerful against warriors than other classes. They can hex you till you puke, weaken, ignore your heavy armour, etc. You have a team. If you're too badly hurt, RUN. They'll pick up the slack.

edit: Sorry, didn't realize your secondary was Mo.. you won't have much anti-caster power. Protective spirit is a good bet. Keep an anti-condition spell for weakness/blindness. Keep a hex remover on hand.

Are shadows weak against holy? If so, then Judge's Insight would slaughter them. Otherwise, Smite Hex, Convert Hex, and Remove Hex are all good.

I'm working on a blood necro. The life drain spells seem good, but straight damage spells don't seem so scary. Can you please give an example of how this kind of spike damage is done? Are you refering to players, monsters (like fog nightmares), or both?

As a necro who's used blood magic a shitload in the past (I'm not right now in my new build but you know what I mean) I can tell you that a hammer warrior who throw's on something like balthazar's aura is pretty devastating. Knock-downs from the hammer SUCK if you're a caster. A savage slash or disrupting chop? No problem, one spell messed up, big woop, but a hammer is much harder to defeat and get around. Hell a good hammer warrior with some AoE monk skill works pretty well, just knock down as many times as you can because your normal hits should do a fair bit against us squishy casters.

And about holy damage doing extra good against necros---not always true, only if you're wearing the necrotic or tormentors set to my knowledge does your protection against holy damage go down. (Which is why I wear the cultists set, also it helps protect against piercing damage attacks from rangers, etc.)

Try knock downs along with any one of the monk smiting enchantment sort of things, as a necro...I hate hammers. (Well, I did before I pumped curses and illusion magic...heheh.)

That one spell messed up by Savage Slash probably isn't important. But that Elite spell messed up by Disrupting Chop... Hmm... How effective is your build without that elite?

And with Disrupting Chop's cycle time, you can have up to 4 skills shut out if they're using Battle Rage {E}.

Knockdowns are the bomb but I think they're tricky to execute in the proper chain. That and the few wary people who bring Balanced Stance won't care. Skill Locking has no cure aside from completely block/dodging the attack.
